Born in Brooklyn to loving parents, Zenith Amani Canaan always knew he was destined for great things. You could say it's in his genes. His mother, Betty, was a track and field star at Central State University, and his father, Al, was a semi-professional boxer. Zenith likes to say he inherited his size and strength from his father and his speed from his mother.

Zenith was a different kind of prodigy. He often shied away from the limelight, but that didn't stop the hype. He was the number one recruit in his high school class and was unanimously hailed as the best prospect since LeBron James.

He attended the famed Abraham Lincoln High School, where he won four straight State and City Championships and still holds just about every major record at the school. From there, it was off to St. John's University, where he once again exceeded expectations and led the school to its first and only National Championship.

Zenith was then selected by the Washington Wizards with the first overall pick in the NBA Draft. He was the unanimous Rookie of the Year. Since then, he has continued to ascend, setting records along the way.
